Welcome to World on a Platter. The name comes from my mom’s catering business. She started it in the 1970’s, providing incredible food from around the world (get it?) to the hungry teachers who worked across the street at my elementary school. Eventually, it grew to a more typical catering business. My mom was an ambitious cook. Her first big dinner gig was a 10 course Chinese dinner. No, my mom was not Chinese and in the 70’s she was definitely pushing the envelope on food! Though I was a picky eater as a child, I finally came around to the joys of food from around the world. I use this blog to share my love of food, travel, and cooking. Hope you enjoy it!
